Opening

Founders in the messy middle often discover their network is broad and their support is thin. They know how to build an audience and cannot name who would sit with them through a hard quarter.

What I brought to the conversation

First date yourself. Intentional time, beautiful spaces, a favourite meal cooked for one, candles, a journal, and the hard question, who am I, and is this transition true for me. Only from that clarity do you look outward.

Then map your people. Forget the algorithm and the feed. Ask who naturally comes to mind, look them up directly, notice what they have been sharing, and reach out with something personal. My favourite is the two minute audio note, personal because you thought of them, with a hook that shows you have followed what they have been up to.

I brought the image of the minibus. You are the driver, and 12 to 15 people ride with you as ambassadors and allies. Some sit at the front for this chapter, others drift to the middle or back. Reflection on who is aboard, and who you would invite aboard now, changes how you invest your time.

I brought Arthur Aron's research on deepening relationships, which needs regularity and reciprocal vulnerability, peel back a layer at a time. And I shared the French exit for introverts, showing your face, slipping away early, presence without exhaustion. We closed on reflection, ten minutes after every coffee chat asking how your energy feels, because that tells you when to reconnect.

"Date yourself ... intentional time create really beautiful spaces cook yourself your favourite meal get some candles on get your journal out and really go deep into who am I"

The question that opened it up

The host asked what to suggest to people pushing through a business who feel they have no sounding board and do not know where to start. That question unlocked the whole sequence, date yourself first, then map, then reach out.

What that conversation confirmed for me

It confirmed that the sequence matters as much as the ideas. Self-knowledge before outreach turns a pitch into an invitation, and people can feel the difference immediately.

Three things to try this week

  1. Book two hours of intentional time with yourself this week. Journal the question, who am I now, and is this path still true.
  2. Send one two minute audio note to someone who came to mind while reading this.
  3. After your next coffee chat, spend ten minutes reflecting on how your energy felt.

A closing question for the show's founders: who is riding in the front seats of your bus right now? Your own social ecosystem is yours to design, and Social Wealth Activation shows you how at https://www.thecommuniverse.com/social-wealth-activation Who would you invite aboard next?
